At Ease on your “Red Road”
“No one reads any more, If you want to blog you need to make short videos”, a wise friend recently told me. If no one reads anymore, who will receive the creations of poets and writers? My wisdom flows out in the written words, and not as gracefully in speech. So, I write, not to be read, but simply to do that which I long to, that which is in my “soul flow”.
We are moving across town, a response to some major changes in our lives. I am sorting through my office this morning, through past, papers, notes from classes, old journals of poetry and thought. Oh goodness, when one loves to learn, write and study, how papers accumulate. What of the past do I keep? What has the potential to support life in the future? What doesn’t?
Transitions, such as moving our household, gives us the opportunity to assess where we are now, to bring a more objective viewpoint, to the past. If we can release judgment and look at our past with clear eyes, we can see not only where we’ve been and what we’ve done, we can see our timeless self. We can see what brought us to our true self, and what might have deterred us from it.
The challenge is to accept in totality with pure compassion, all that we are…even if there are problems to be solved within us and new directions we want to take. We must take ourselves “as is” in this moment and proceed with our feet on what native spirituality calls, “our Red Road”. We are on our “Red Road”, when we are in alignment, in resonance with our soul’s essence and purpose.
If we stop and quiet our minds, we can feel what I like to call “soul flow”. It is the resonance of the field of energy that connects us to the Infinite Mind (the Great Spirit, God….) and to one another. When I feel this Source Field harmoniously vibrating with where I am, or the direction I set out in, I know I’m on my “Red Road”.
Do you feel in “soul flow”? Are you standing or walking on your “Red Road?” How do you sense “Soul Flow”? How do you sense your “Red Road”?
Keeping Only
by, Anisha Zo
To be enough
To find comfort in alone,
To know peace in a crowd
To accept all
To accept you
To release some…
Then, the tangled knot of reality,
Of hopes and dreams, loosen
It is clear now
where one begins, and one ends
It is clear now, the essence of each
And, whether they fill the void within you
With Joy
We can kiss good-bye now the strands
Not ept for moments to come
Allowing them to dissolve into air
Keeping only, the strands of heart
That when plucked, their song resonates
In harmony with Soul
